MSP430F2121IPWR Description

The quad consists of eight differential low noise (0.65nVHz) voltage preamps. Two select lines control two pairs of inputs. Each of the output stages provides a nominal 470Ω-output impedance on each half of the differential output stages. The overall gain of 190V/V may be attenuated by adding an external load resistor between each set of differential out- puts. For example, adding an external 940Ω resistor across the output pins will reduce the nominal differential gain by half to 95V/V.

MSP430F2121IPWR Features

package, CS is the case to heat sink thermal resistance and SA is the heat sink to ambient thermal resistance. By adding additional copper area around the MSP430F2121IPWR, the JA can be reduced from its free air value of 140˚C/W for package M08A. Depending on the ambient temperature, TA, and the JA, Equation 2 can be used to find the maximum internal power dissipation supported by the IC packaging. If the re- sult of Equation 1 is greater than that of Equation 2, then ei- ther the supply voltage must be decreased, the load imped- ance increased, the JA decreased, or the ambient temperature reduced. For the typical application of a 5V power supply, with an 8Ω load, and no additional heatsink- ing, the maximum ambient temperature possible without vio- lating the maximum junction temperature is approximately 61˚C provided that device operation is around the maximum power dissipation point and assuming surface mount pack- aging. Internal power dissipation is a function of output power. If typical operation is not around the maximum power dissipation point, the ambient temperature can be increased. Refer to the Typical Performance Characteristics curves for power dissipation information for different output powers and output loading.
